richard shorty was born in Whitehorse, Yukon. In the early 80's richard started painting West-Coast Native design, and soon developed his own distinct style, using the wildlife form of the animal and adding his own native design on the inside of the form. his work is exposed in many galleries throughout the world and his pieces are collected internationally.
